of the construction of submarine cable laying facilities of the second round of Hainan Interconnection Project.
It is reported that the land project of "Hainan Network Second Round" has been fully completed and put into operation at the end of May this year, and the laying of submarine cables in the most critical link of the project is expected to start in November

The project started in October 2015, the land works, including overhead transmission lines and substation works, were fully completed and put into operation at the end of May this year, and the submarine cable laying will start in November, which is the most critical part of
the project.

The submarine cable adopts 500 kV oil-filled paper insulated cable, with a single continuous length of about 31 kilometers, which is currently the longest submarine cable of the same type in the world, and there is no domestic production capacity and construction capacity

Since the submarine cable crosses the Qiongzhou Strait, the laying work must be carried out continuously without stopping, and the cooperation and support of the Maritime Safety Bureau and local governments are required to ensure the safety of passing ships and construction, and ensure that construction operations are not interfered with
by fishing activities.

Since June 2009, after the "Hainan Interconnection One" was put into operation, Hainan has completely ended the history of
power island operation.
With the rapid social and economic development of Hainan, the construction of the second phase of Hainan nuclear power project, especially the construction of Hainan Free Trade Zone (Port), the original single-loop network can no longer meet the needs
of power supply and power grid system in Hainan Province.
After the completion of the second cycle of the Hainan interconnection project, the double-loop line interconnection between the Hainan power grid and the southern main network will be realized, and the power transmission capacity will be increased from 600,000 kilowatts to 1.
2 million kilowatts, which will further improve the reliability of the interconnection project, provide a "double guarantee" for the safety of the power grid and the stable operation of nuclear power in Hainan Province, help Hainan build a green energy island, and provide strong power support
