China reportedly plans to build 20 nuclear power plants
on large equipment floating at sea.
Most countries in the South China Sea vie for territorial rights and supply electricity
on artificial islands in the South China Sea.
It is planned to build small atomic furnaces on Chinese shipyards, build large barges to tow in areas led by electricity
.
Electricity
is provided through local distribution networks and crude oil excavation equipment.
China has suspended plans to build nuclear power plants since 2011 after the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident at Tokyo Electric Power
.
But after that, renewable energy wind power and photovoltaic and nuclear power plant construction
will be promoted as much as possible.
In 2016, the 13th Five-Year Plan
will be launched in March this year.
After the completion of the plan, by 2030, China will have the largest number of nuclear power generation in the country
.
Twenty nuclear power plants will be built at sea nuclear power plants
.
However, the safety and economic aspects of nuclear power have yet to be evaluated
.
The construction of offshore nuclear power plants is the first in the United States, and Russia will now move forward with this construction
.
The Chinese side is ambitious
.
First, nuclear power plants will be built offshore from 2017 and power generation
will be carried out from 20 years.
Of the 20 nuclear power plants planned, the initial one will be set up
on Hainan Island in the South China Sea.
China National Offshore Oil Corporation, which is dedicated to oil and gas research and development, is reportedly using nuclear power plants
offshore to explore the seabed of the South China Sea.
In addition, China will also explore the construction of artificial islands in the South China Sea to provide electricity
.
The use of small atomic furnaces with a power generation capacity of 50-100 MW will replace large atomic furnaces with the same atomic furnaces, and will be explored
in the United States and Europe.
Using large-scale atomic furnace technology and starting assembly at the workshop has the benefit
of significantly reducing costs.
In terms of these small atomic furnaces, the biggest advantage of nuclear power construction is that it eliminates the risk of coolant loss accidents, and in addition, it is very
safe compared to large atomic furnaces.
However, at sea, ship-type accidents are prone to occur, and bad weather and tsunamis often occur, and there is a risk of
shipwrecking.
Compared with onshore nuclear power, external factors such as loss of external power and terrorist attacks protect nuclear power, and maintenance is also difficult
in terms of continuous safe operation.
If the power needed for cooling is lost after a nuclear power sinks, it is expected to cause serious accidents
.
This can be seen
through the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power accident.
