At the third energy forum held on May 15, Liu Baohua, director of the Nuclear Power Department of the National Energy Administration, said that at present, China has the ability to produce 6-8 nuclear power equipment per year, and has basically mastered the technology
of three generations of nuclear power.
Third-generation nuclear power technology refers to a new generation of advanced nuclear power plant technology
that meets the URD or UAR and has better safety.
It has the advantage
of economically competing with combined cycle natural gas units and adopting a large number of second-generation mature technologies in energy conversion systems.
One of the most fundamental differences between the third-generation technology and the second-generation technology is that the third-generation nuclear power technology takes the installation, prevention and mitigation of serious accidents as a requirement
that must be met in the design of nuclear power plants.
At the third energy forum, the president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering said that at present, China is developing in the direction of modernization, scale, autonomy and serialization, and has even reached the international leading level
in some fields.
China has successfully developed the third-generation nuclear power technology of "Hualong No.
1" with independent intellectual property rights, and has the research and development capabilities of fast reactor and high-temperature gas-cooled reactor of fourth-generation nuclear power technology, and has made major technical achievements
in key links of the nuclear fuel cycle.
At present, "Hualong No.
1" has been widely concerned and recognized by countries along the "Belt and Road" strategy, and has carried out nuclear power project cooperation
with more than 20 countries in Europe, Latin America, Africa and South Asia.
China has taken the lead in the world to master the five core key technologies of the third-generation nuclear power AP1000, and the construction of the third-generation nuclear power autonomy project has generally progressed very smoothly, laying a solid foundation
for the autonomy and batch construction of China's third-generation nuclear power AP1000.
