Original title: China continues to promote the standardization of the metamaterials industry and improve the standard system
China News Service, Guangzhou, April 18 (Reporter Guo Jun) "National Electromagnetic Metamaterials Technology and Products Standardization Committee" (hereinafter referred to as "Standard Committee") annual working meeting was held on the 18th at Guangqi 709 base.
Public information shows that metamaterials refer to artificial composite structures or composite materials that have extraordinary physical properties that natural materials do not have.
China's metamaterial technology research and development started late, but with the strong support of the state and the efforts of all parties, China's metamaterial industry has developed rapidly in recent years.
As an emerging in-depth interdisciplinary subject, metamaterials integrate a relatively large technological system such as physics, chemistry, electromagnetics, integrated circuits, mechanics, materials, and equipment manufacturing.
In just a few years, with the collective cooperation of Shenzhen Guangqi Advanced Institute of Technology, Guangqi Technology and other units, the Standards Committee has achieved leapfrog development and achieved the first in the field in the fields of metamaterial terminology, labeling, and general specifications.
Zhao Zhiya, deputy dean of Shenzhen Guangqi Institute of Advanced Science and Technology, revealed that by the end of 2020, the total number of national standards under the jurisdiction of the Standards Committee is 3, namely "Electromagnetic Metamaterials Terminology" and "Airborne Metamaterial Radome General Specifications".
