Finland and China announced that they are working together to establish an open international testbed to develop flexible clean energy systems
.
China and Finland are working together to build a clean energy test platform
International companies and research institutions were invited to participate in the Åland Islands in Finland and Zhangjiakou Demonstration Zone facilities in China
.
Åland plans to become a demonstration platform
for flexible energy systems based on smart grids and the production and use of 100% renewable energy.
Finland says the system will have the ability to integrate distributed renewable energy production across the grid and respond quickly to fluctuations
in demand and supply.
Zhangjiakou will use the microgrid in the demonstration area to increase
the proportion of renewable energy.
Li Meng, Vice Minister of Science and Technology, said: "Increasing the flexibility of the power system is essential
to achieve a high degree of renewable energy penetration and ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid.
