According to the news of Hydrocarbon Processing Online on May 28, Chevron Phillips Chemical Company's new world-scale 1-hexene plant project in Old Ocean, Texas, USA has broken ground.

The project will use Chevron Phillips Chemical Company's proprietary 1-hexene technology, which can produce extremely pure comonomer-grade 1-hexene from ethylene.

Mitch Eichelberger, Executive Vice President of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company’s Polymers and Specialty Chemicals Business, said: “The new facility will provide additional flexibility and output to meet the growing customer expectations, while paving the way for future growth.

Chevron Phillips Chemical Company stated that the new 1-hexene plant project in Old Ocean will enjoy significant advantages in terms of infrastructure, raw material availability and operational expertise.
