Chevron USA, through its Chevron New Energy division and the Restoring Earth Foundation, Inc.
, announced an agreement for the Parish of St.
Charles, Louisiana, for a Up to 8,800 acres of property reforestation project
.
The project unites Chevron and the Restoring Earth Foundation to develop a nature-based solution expected to remove carbon from the atmosphere, with a focus on the reforestation of natural cypress forests and marshes in St.
Charles Parish
.
As part of the project, Chevron will fund Restoring the Planet, which is expected to plant 1.
7 million seedlings of local bald cypress trees
