The 100,000-ton/year hydrogen peroxide method to produce propylene oxide is jointly developed by Changling Refinery, China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation Petrochemical Research Institute, Shanghai Engineering Company, Changling Petrochemical Technology Development Company, and Sinopec Safety Engineering Research Institute Co.

Propylene oxide is the second largest propylene derivative after polypropylene, and is mainly used in the production of important chemical intermediates such as polyethers

The successful development of the project's complete set of technologies and the "safe, long, stable and excellent" operation of the Changling Refinery and Chemical Industrial Production Unit are of great significance to the petrochemical industry to effectively utilize the refinery's low-carbon olefin resources, adjust the petrochemical industry structure, protect the environment, and improve efficiency
