From the "14th Five-Year Plan" outline to the government work report to the ninth meeting of the Central Finance and Economics Committee, the "work drawing" for carbon peaking and carbon neutrality is becoming clearer.

"We will set more active new energy development goals and accelerate the development of wind power and solar power.

According to the arrangement of the National Energy Administration, in the central and eastern regions, the development and utilization of new energy will be actively promoted.

Many places also "heavy warehouses" to deploy new energy.

The "14th Five-Year Plan" outlines hydrogen energy as an important frontier technology and industrial transformation field, requiring the organization and implementation of future industry incubation and acceleration plans, and planning for a number of future industries.

According to incomplete statistics, more than 30 provincial and municipal hydrogen energy development plans have been issued one after another.

Faced with the intensive support of policies and the huge market of ten trillion yuan, all kinds of capitals and enterprises have also "enclosed their horses", and there are many "crossovers" among them.

Following the acceleration of the deployment of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles by SAIC, Haima, and Guangzhou Automobile, Great Wall Motors held a hydrogen energy strategy conference on March 29.

On March 31, photovoltaic leader Longji shares entered Hydrogen Energy, and its Hydrogen Energy Technology Company was registered and established.

Sun Chuanwang, a professor at the China Energy Economic Research Center of Xiamen University, said in an interview with a reporter from the Economic Information Daily that the frequent introduction of favorable policies by the central and local governments will help accelerate the development of the hydrogen energy industry.

CITIC Securities pointed out that under the promotion of the carbon neutral policy, hydrogen energy will have abundant applications in the traditional high-energy-consuming industrial technological innovation, transportation, energy storage, and construction.

　　The International Hydrogen Energy Commission predicts that by 2050, hydrogen energy will bear 18% of the world's energy terminal demand, creating a market value of more than 2.

　　Many pain points to be solved

　　Although the hydrogen energy industry has received many policy support, high storage and transportation costs and technical difficulties still restrict the large-scale commercial development of the hydrogen energy industry.

　　Sun Chuanwang said that although China's hydrogen energy currently has broad prospects, there are still two major pain points in the large-scale development of the industry.
The first is the issue of cost reduction.
The substitutability of hydrogen energy must be based on economy.
How to complete the transformation with the lowest cost is the key issue at present.
The second is the core technology problem.
By accelerating the construction of demonstration application projects and service platform carriers, a complete hydrogen energy industry chain is formed to break through the practical constraints in the commercialization process.

　　Wang Zhixuan, full-time vice chairman of the China Electricity Council, told the reporter of the Economic Information Daily that the development of hydrogen energy is generally in the initial stage of exploration, and individual regions (enterprises) are in the pilot stage.
In his view, the future of this industry market is promising, but no matter how ambitious the individual energy development is, it must be coordinated with the entire energy development, the overall layout, overall planning, and gradual progress, so as to properly handle the relationship between energy security, greenness, and economy.

　　Sun Chuanwang believes that promoting the achievement of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality is undoubtedly the biggest driving force for the current development of the hydrogen energy industry.
In the future, China needs to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen energy applications in the fields of metallurgy, transportation, and construction.
A comprehensive observation of the low-carbon action plans of different countries and regions shows that the "14th Five-Year Plan" is expected to become an important window for the development of hydrogen energy.
