Recently, Celanese and Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical Co.

formally met in Quanzhou, confirming that Celanese successfully won the bid and became the 100,000-ton-per-year EVA ( Raw material supplier for vinyl acetate and ethylene copolymers) plants
.
"The signing of the 100,000-ton EVA project signifies that Celanese will become the sole supplier of Sinochem Quanzhou's high-performance environmentally friendly polymer EVA, and further confirms Celanese's leading position in the supply of vinyl acetate in China's EVA market
.
Wang Xing, Senior Sales Director of Celanese Greater China, said, "At the same time, the winning of the bid also lays a foundation for the possible de-bottlenecking projects of Celanese Nanjing Plant in the future, and will continue to promote the use of this green and environmentally friendly raw material in the EVA industry.
Vinyl Acetate (VAM) produced by Celanese using advanced and environmentally friendly technology is the key raw material for EVA resin production.
Sinochem Quanzhou is affiliated to Sinochem Group Corporation.
Its 12 million tons/year oil refining project is located in Quanhui Petrochemical Industrial Park, Quanzhou Bay Petrochemical Base, Fujian Province, covering an area of more than 6,500 mu with a total investment of about 32.
