The American Chemistry Council (ACC) Center for the Polyurethane Industry (CPI) announced that Carbon's DLS technology for use in the lining of Riddell SpeedFlex Precision Diamond football helmets has won a 2019 Polyurethane Innovation Awa.
The Innovation Awards are renowned across the polyurethane industry and recognize the most creative business technologies of the past 12 mont.
Lee Salamone, Senior Director of the Polyurethane Industry Center, expressed his congratulations on Carbon's recognition and achieveme.
Carbon said in its entry profile: “Carbon and Riddell collaborated to produce the first-ever 3D printed inner liner for the SpeedFlex Precision Diamond football helm.
"Our unique materials have made Riddell one of the most iconic brands in the world, creating the next generation of products that improve the quality of human life," said Jason Rolland, vice president of Advanced Materials at Carb.
This year, the Dow AQUACHILL Cool Coating for Comfort Beds was also a finalist for the Innovation Awar.
"AQUACHILL is a waterborne phase change material (PCM) coating that achieves initial and sustained cooling while providing breathability, optimal durability, optimal adhesion and minimal odor," the company sa.
The two finalists presented their products at the Polyurethane Technology Conference in Orlando, and the final award was voted on by nearly a thousand professiona.
