    Recently, the Government of Canada adopted a "Notice on Bisphenol A (BPA) and BPA Structural Analogs and Functional Alternatives," which will introduce a mandatory collection of information on Bisphenol A (BPA) and its substitutes investigate
    .
    This information-gathering mission covers 188 substances and is designed to help Canadian authorities decide on regulatory measures for bisphenol A, including its structural analogs and functional alternatives
    .
    Data collected through the survey will be used to support government risk assessment efforts, such as those of Environment and Climate Change Canada and Health Canada
    .

    This information collection task is applicable to the following companies (only for the whole year of 2019):

    1.
    Enterprises that produce the covered substances and the total production exceeds 10kg;

    2.
    Imports of a substance in a total amount exceeding 10kg, whether the substance is:

    a.
    a single substance; or

    b.
    Present in the mixture or product at a concentration greater than or equal to 0.
    02% (w/w%); or

    c.
    Present in products specified in Class 12 and at concentrations greater than or equal to 0.
    02% (w/w%);

    3.
    The total use of the substance exceeds 10kg for the production of a commodity, including the use of the substance alone or in combination with other substances at a concentration of 0.
    02% or more (w/w%)

    Subjects surveyed in compliance with this notice must provide information on the commercial status of the chemical (such as total manufacturing or use data), release information (such as details of relevant discharge facilities and emissions), and downstream use information (such as company inquiries to unpublished research reports and “known or expected” end-use information)
    .

    Environment Canada is receiving responses from businesses until March 16, 2022, which may be extended
