Recently, Environment and Climate Change Canada released a draft plan that proposes to achieve zero discharge of plastic waste by 2030, and proposes an integrated management approach to prevent waste/pollution of plastic products

Statistics show that Canada produces 3 million tons of plastic waste every year, but the recycling rate is only 9%, of which 29,000 tons leak into the environment

The Government of Canada estimates that by improving plastic waste management and investing in innovative solutions, it can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 1.
8 million tons each year and create 42,000 jobs
