The 2020 Global Energy Internet (Asia) Conference was held in Beijing on the 2nd.
Ali Shahbana, Executive Secretary of the United Nations ESCAP, believes that the energy demand in Asia is huge, the proportion of fossil energy is high, and the task of reducing emissions is heavy.
Liu Zhenya, Chairman of the Cooperative Organization, pointed out: “The Asian Energy Internet is an important component of the Global Energy Internet and the only way to promote the energy transition in Asia.
At the conference, the cooperative organization released a series of reports on Energy Internet Research and Prospects in Asia and various regions, and made systematic plans for the development of the Asian Energy Internet based on the needs of sustainable development.
Facing the severe test brought by the new crown pneumonia epidemic to the global economy, international cooperation to promote a green economic recovery is crucial.
In September this year, China proposed at the 75th United Nations General Assembly that carbon dioxide emissions should reach a peak before 2030 and strive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
The Global Energy Internet Initiative was put forward by China in September 2015 and has now been incorporated into the work framework of implementing the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, promoting the implementation of the Paris Agreement, promoting global environmental governance, and jointly building the “Belt and Road”.
