Leading data and analytics firm GlobalData said India is expected to lead the globally planned and announced pipeline length expansion project between 2021 and 2025, accounting for around
23 percent of global pipeline additions by 2025.
The company reports that by 2025, India's planned pipeline length is 24,526 km, and the declared pipeline length is 5,087 km
.
Bhargavi Gandham, oil and gas analyst at GlobalData, said: "Kandla-Gorakhpur is the largest pipeline project to be carried out in the country, with a total length of 2,757 kilometers
.
The pipeline is used to transport petroleum products and is proposed to run from Gujarat to Uttar Pradesh
.
Operations
are expected to begin in 2025.
