British tech innovators are on the verge of entering China's offshore wind market

The UK Offshore Renewable Energy Incubator (ORE Catapult) is partnering with Tus-Wind, a unit of Tsinghua University Enterprise Tus Holdings, to establish a research institute in Shandong province to promote innovative technologies and support the development
of offshore wind farms with a capacity of at least 300 MW.

ORE Catapult said this represented at least £90 million of UK supply chain export opportunities, estimated to reach £15 billion by 2030, and provided a launching pad
for entry into China's wind power market.

The local government in Yantai is supporting
the project with a three-year investment of £3 million.

Dr Stephen Wyatt, Director of Research and Innovation at ORE Catapult, said: "China is one of the fastest growing offshore wind technology markets in the world, which presents huge opportunities for technology transfer and exports of innovative products and services
for UK companies to our largest trading partner.
