For a long time, one of the core components of fiber lasers in the high-power pump coupler is imported, and the main function of the pump coupler is to aggregate the pump optical coupling in multiple thin fibers to a thick fiber and output higher power pump light, which works like the root system of trees: many side roots transport and converge water in the soil to the main root and inject into the trunk, the stronger the water absorption and water transport capacity of the primary root and the side root, the more water the tree can get, so as to flourish.
In order to get rid of the dependence on imported core devices, CETC put forward the goal of fully localizing the core components in the "high-power fiber laser", and finally realized the localization of core components such as beam combiners and pump couplers in just half a year
