Brazil's Ministry of Mines and Energy on Wednesday announced guidelines
for the renewable energy tender A-5, which will be held on September 30.
Through an announcement published in the Official Gazette, the government confirmed that this round of A-5 renewable energy tenders will contract hydropower, wind, solar, biomass, coal, natural gas and municipal solid waste power generation projects
.
This round of tenders will award power purchase agreements (PPAs) with a validity period of 15 years for wind and solar, 25 years for hydropower and 20 years for the remaining energy sources
.
According to the plan, the awarded project will start supplying electricity
on January 1, 2026.
Investors and interested parties have until June 2 to submit bids, with the exception of hydropower projects with a capacity greater than 50 MW, which have a deadline of May 10
.
