According to Reuters, 19 international companies have expressed interest in participating in the construction and financing
of the 160 MW Dabar hydropower project in southeastern Bosnia.
The national hydropower production manager told Reuters that those companies included General Electric, Strabag, Turkey's Enka, and seven Chinese companies
, including Dongfang Electric and Norinco International Cooperation.
The Dabar plant on the Trebisnjica River will be the planned 250 MW hydroelectric power plant Gornji Horizo?? Part of the NTI, the complex also includes two smaller hydroelectric power plants, Nevesinje and Bileca
.
It was revealed that the cost of building the Dabar plant is estimated at 200 million euros ($234 million).
The project leader also said that interested partners will be invited to submit formal bids
for the plant.
When commissioned, the plant will produce 251 gigawatt-hours of electricity
per year.
Partners should fund at least 85% of the value of the project, and the rest will be reimbursed
in electricity or cash.
The rest of the funding will be funded
by the HET.
