Bosnian state electricity company Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske (ERS) plans to invest DM 2.
5 billion ($1.
4 billion) in renewable energy development
over the next 10 years, according to local media.
The new investment will enable an additional 1,000 megawatts of electricity
to be produced.
"We have resolved the financing of the Hrgud wind farm project and are in the tender process
for the Dabar hydropower plant.
" Luka Petrovic, CEO of ERS, said: "In the future, we will also increase our investment
in renewable energy.
”
Luka Petrovic also said ERS would seek funding from foreign banks because Bosnia's banking sector could not provide enough money
for a project of this magnitude.
