Canadian renewable energy producer Boralex recently sold its 12 MW Blendecques cogeneration plant in France to local papermaker Norpaper, making it a 100% green operator
in its European operations.
The deal was completed on Friday on undisclosed financial terms, and the paper mill also became the sole beneficiary of the plant
.
Boralex said in a statement that the sale is in line with the company's strategic plan for 2023 and enables it to become a 100% green operator
in Europe.
Nicolas Wolff, Vice President and Managing Director of Boralex Europe, said: "In essence, this activity is no longer aligned with
our renewable energy production site.
This sale will allow us to focus our full time on
our strategic assets.
”
According to information on its website, Boralex still has a 35-megawatt thermal power station
in Senneterre, Quebec, Canada.
