Recently, Birla Carbon announced that the company intends to expand the global carbon black plant production capacity by an additional 200,000 tons/year to meet the needs of key markets, of which the Chinese market is 80,000 tons/year
.
The expansion is expected to be completed in 2024
.
It is reported that based on customer needs and feedback, Birla Carbon will focus on meeting the needs of strategic markets such as Europe, India and China for rubber and specialty applications
.
In addition to the Chinese market, the Indian market will expand production by 80,000 tons/year, and the Hungarian market will expand by 40,000 tons/year
.
The company will also add surface treatment capabilities for high-value specialty materials in India to serve customers in key application areas such as water-based coatings in line with sustainable industry trends
.
Birla Carbon said it will continue to evaluate expansion plans in different regions, driven by customer demand, industry trends and sustainability leaders
