BHEL has received two important orders
for emission control equipment from Telangana National Power Generation Company (TSGENCO).
The project, valued at Rs 1,000 crore, involves the supply and installation of flue gas desulphurisation systems for SOx emission control and 4x270 MW Bhadradri TPS
at TSGENCO's 1x800 MW Kothagudem thermal power plant.
Bhadradri TPS's order also includes modifications to boilers and electrostatic precipitators to comply with revised emissions standards
.
BHEL is currently executing the engineering, procurement, and construction of
these projects.
Due to the revision of the notification of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change and stricter emission standards, there has been an increase
in the ordering of emission control equipment in the Indian power sector.
Therefore, emission control equipment
must be installed in existing and new thermal power projects.
In line with a renewed commitment to improving the environment, BHEL will provide customized solutions for coal-fired power plants in India to meet these revised emission standards
.
BHEL has been a major player
in this area for more than a decade.
BHEL has extensive installation experience, operations in India and abroad, and with its strong engineering credentials, utilities are confident that the company can bring their power plants into compliance with the revised emission standard specifications
