On January 19, the Beijing Municipal Agricultural Commission said that it would completely eliminate inferior coal in 2016 and planned to achieve "coal-free"
in Chaoyang, Haidian, Fengtai and Shijingshan districts in 2017.
At the end of 2015, Beijing basically achieved full coverage
of rural households with household registration.
The relevant person in charge of the Beijing Municipal Agricultural Commission said that in 2017, the four districts of Chaoyang, Haidian, Fengtai and Shijingshan will be "coal-free"
.
It is understood that at present, there are still 172 villages in the four districts of Chao, Hai, Feng, and Shi that use coal-fired heating
.
According to the above-mentioned person in charge, this year these villages will be reduced coal for coal, "involving a total of about 200,000 users in four districts, calculated by reducing the use of coal by about 600,000 tons per household per heating season"
.
What effect does reduced coal burn have on Beijing's air improvements? According to the relevant person in charge of the Municipal Agricultural Committee, taking sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and soot produced by combustion as an example, 600,000 tons of coal burning can reduce the release of 1,800 tons of sulfur dioxide, 2,000 tons of nitrogen oxides and 4,500 tons of soot
.
This year, in addition to focusing on reducing coal for coal in the above four districts, Tongzhou will also be "coal-free"
for the sub-center of Tongzhou City and some villages in heavily polluted areas such as Daxing and Fangshan notified by the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
At present, the villages involved in the coal reform area are being verified, and according to reports, after the verification of the current village power supply capacity and gas pipeline by the power company and the gas group, the specific coal reform list
will be announced at the end of January this year.
