Renewable energy developer BayWa r.
e.
has completed a 288kW rooftop solar installation
for Spain's Pastores Grupo Cooperativo.
The project is BayWa r.
e's first self-consumption project in Spain and one of the first of its kind in the
country.
Pastores Grupo Cooperativo, a livestock cooperative with almost 500,000 sheep and 1,000 members, will be one of the first commercial and industrial organizations in Spain to benefit
from its own photovoltaic installations.
One hundred percent of the solar energy will be consumed
at the lamb processing plant in Zaragoza.
The installation is the result of the European SCOoPE project, which aims to transfer good practices and energy efficiency to the European agricultural industry in the dairy, meat, juice and processing, drying industries; Especially cooperatives

The project will save Pastores Grupo Cooperativo €700,000 in energy costs over 25 years
.
The project involves five Huawei 36KTL inverters and three Huawei 33KTL inverters
.
