BASF opens new laboratory building

BASF opens a new laboratory building at its site in Münster, Germany for the development of automotive refinish paints and solutions for the "Innovation Beyond Paint" project to strengthen the Coatings business unit as a future-proof and the global position of innovative companies

In addition to making sustainable products, the site is continuously investing in more efficient use of production energy and increasing the use of renewable energy
.
The new laboratory building uses waste heat from the company's waste incinerator into heat, which is then heated through the floor
.
Since the beginning of this year, BASF's Coatings business has purchased electricity at its production sites in Münster and Würzburg, Germany, and has converted 100 percent of its energy into eco-efficiency through wind power
.
In Münster alone, around 4,000 tonnes of CO2 can be reduced compared to the previous year

The laboratory building is designed with six different grey-blue façades that vary according to viewing angles and light, thus creating a future-oriented work environment

The innovative arrangement of labs, warehouses, offices and meeting rooms presents a new, agile compositional structure designed to promote efficiency and effectiveness, further enhancing overall collaboration and creativity
