Last Thursday, BAIC sold its first car
on the Mexican market.
A BAIC insider said: "Mexico is a very important part
of our long-term vision.

The Chinese company said it will sell sedans and small SUVs in Mexico through six dealerships, while another three models are scheduled to go on sale
by the end of the year.
It has partnered with local distributor Grupo Picacho
.
Since Chinese state-owned automaker FAW Group left the Mexican market in 2009, BAIC is currently the only Chinese automaker
to enter the market.
Because it seems likely that China will beat multiple established car-making powerhouses
by releasing a best-selling electric car in Mexico.
