Award-winning for unconventional shield design technology for oil and gas pipelines

At the 6th United Nations Industrial Development Organization Global Science and Technology Innovation Conference held recently, PetroChina Pipeline Design Institute's "Key Technology for the Design and Construction of Unconventional Shield Tunnels for Oil and Gas Pipelines" won the Gold Award
of the 2022 Global Science and Technology Innovation Conference.

It is understood that in view of the problems faced by shield tunnels in the oil and gas pipeline industry, such as ultra-high water pressure, high seismic intensity and ultra-long distance, the pipeline design institute has carried out research on tunnel load, joint behavior of high water pressure ring sheets, waterproof sealing of small section tunnels, tunnel seismic resistance and adaptability transformation of large slope shield construction equipment, etc.
, and formed a series of scientific and technological innovation achievements

These achievements include the invention of sealed waterproof structures suitable for high water pressure conditions, flexible segments of oil and gas pipeline shield tunnels, installation technology and corresponding structural design methods of ultra-long-distance oil and gas pipeline shield
tunnels.

Zuo Leibin, director of the Pipeline Design Institute's cross-crossing room, said that they proposed and implemented the shield tunnel to achieve seismic energy dissipation by means of dampers, and for the first time in the world's cross-river shield tunnel, it exceeded 10,000 meters

This shows that China's unconventional shield design technology has reached the international advanced level and achieved leapfrog development
of technology.
