According to international consultancy GlobalData, Asia's refining capacity under planned and unplanned maintenance in 2020 was 11,524,000 barrels
per day.
In 2020, planned maintenance refining capacity reached 11,319,000 b/d and 205,000 b/d
of unplanned maintenance refining capacity in Asia, the report said.
Haseeb Ahmed, Oil and Gas Analyst at GlobalData, commented: "In Asia, Ulsan and Yeosu in South Korea and Jamnagar II in India are the main refineries
for planned and unplanned maintenance in 2020.
Ulsan and Yeosu have refining capacity of 840,000 b/d and 800,000 b/d, while Jamnagar II has 707,000 b/d

GlobalData ranked North America as the second highest refining capacity region, with 11,183,000 b/d
of refining capacity under planned and unplanned maintenance in 2020.
In the planned maintenance for 2020, the Port Arthur II refinery in the United States had the highest refining capacity at 635,000 barrels per day

Among the unplanned maintenance, the refinery, also located at the Arthur I port in the United States, had the highest refining capacity at 790,000 b/d
.
Europe ranked third
globally with 5,358,000 b/d refining capacity in planned and unplanned maintenance in 2020.
In planned maintenance, the Pernis refinery in the Netherlands had the highest capacity at 405,000 b/d, while the Plock refinery in Poland and the refinery in Rheinland, Germany, had 327,000 b/d and 325,000 b/d
