Sinochem News Network News On August 31, French specialty chemicals company Arkema and Ashland Global Holdings signed an agreement to acquire Ashland’s high-performance adhesives business.
Ashland's high-performance adhesives business in 2021 is expected to have sales of approximately US$360 million and EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of approximately US$95 million
Ashland expects the total net income from the sale to be approximately US$1.
Arkema said that the combination of Ashland's high-performance adhesives and sustainable and high-performance solutions from its Bostik and coating solutions division will form one of the most complete product portfolios in the pressure-sensitive adhesive field
Ashland's high-performance adhesives business has approximately 330 employees and operates six production platforms, mainly in North America.
Arkema stated that the proposed acquisition is fully in line with the group’s strategy and ambitious goal of becoming a pure specialty material manufacturer by 2024, creating at least 10 billion euros in sales, and EBITDA (before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization) profit margins.
