Arkema said it will acquire Agiplast, a leader in the regeneration of high-performance polymers, especially specialty polyamides and fluoropolymers
    .
Through the planned acquisition of Agiplast, Arkema will be able to provide customers with a comprehensive service in the material recycling area, meeting the growing market expectations in this area

    .
The transaction is expected to close in June 2021

    .

With this acquisition, Arkema will become the first fully integrated high-performance polymer manufacturer to offer both bio-based and recycled materials to meet the challenges of resource scarcity and product obsolescence
    .
This project contributes to the sustainable development of the polymer industry and is fully aligned with Arkema's sustainable growth strategy

    .

Agiplast, a company specializing in the recycling of high-performance polymers, is Arkema's historic partner in the recycling business
    .
The company, with annual sales of around 15 million euros, operates a factory in Italy and employs 32 people

    .
Agiplast's strong expertise in mechanical recycling technology will enable Arkema to provide its customers with high-quality recycled polymers

    .

In October 2019, Arkema has launched the Virtucycle® project, an ambitious initiative in partnership with Agiplast to develop a collection and regeneration cycle for high-performance polymers while minimising CO2 emissions
    .
Therefore, this additional acquisition is in line with Arkema's corporate social responsibility and sustainable growth strategy, especially the transition to a circular economy
