Arevo Introduces 3D Printed Carbon Fiber One-Piece Bike Frames and Rims

Arevo will be showcasing its 3D printed carbon fiber monolithic production bicycle frame and 3D thermoplastic rim at Eurobike 201

Arevo (Milpitas, CA, USA) announced on August 27 that it will exhibit the world’s first 3D printed carbon fiber unibody bicycle frame next week at Eurobike 2019 in Friedrichshafen, Germa.

Bicycle parts are produced through the company's "Arevo DNA" technology, an additive manufacturing (AM) process with patented software algorithms that can be used in generative design techniques for free-moving robots with "true 3D" structures and direct energy for the deposition of nearly void-free structures in anisotropic composit.

The company says its Arevo DNA AM process reduces the design and final manufacture of bicycle frames from 18 months to a few days, and significantly reduces production cos.

Capable of continuous, mass production of AM composite parts made of thermoplastic materials,

A fully automatic "lights out" production method to replace manual processes,

The ability to localize manufacturing or "bracing", creating greater independence for bike brands, and

Design freedom for bike manufacturers, creating the possibility to build fully custom bikes on dema.

"Arevo DNA provides a new paradigm for product designers that forever changes the way we design and build anything," Stephens sa.

At Eurobike 2019, Stephens will give a talk titled "3D Printing Carbon Fiber Frame Production" on Thursday, September 5th at 11.

Arevo will also launch e-bike demonstration rides featuring this innovative frame and material, and will announce new e-bike frame designs and customers who will showcase the new e-bikes in the Eurobike showro.
