Specialty materials supplier Arkema has appointed Anthony O'Donovan as chief executive and president, succeeding Richard Rowe, who has retired
.
In this role, O'Donovan will oversee Arkema's activities in the United States, Canada and Mexico
.
In addition, he will serve as Regional Head of the Arkema Group in North America
.
O'Donovan has worked at Degussa Specialty Chemicals in South Africa and FMC in Canada and the U.
S.
in a range of production, supply chain and Business leadership positions
.
O'Donovan joined Arkema in 2013 as Global Supply Chain Director for Fluorochemicals
.
Most recently, he served as Regional Group President for Arkema's Fluoride business in the Americas
.
He holds a BS and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, South Africa
.
