On April 13 , Tongde Chemical issued an announcement regarding its wholly-owned subsidiary investing in a new BDO project with an annual output of 240,000 tons .

Basic situation of project investment:

The announcement shows that this project is a newly-built fully biodegradable plastic project with an annual output of 60,000 tons for the supporting company.

BDO ( 1,4- butanediol) is an important organic chemical and fine chemical raw material.

Since 2021, the price of BDO has soared, breaking through the 30,000 yuan / ton mark in late February .
