    Recently, allnex announced that as part of the Environmental Sustainability Governance Plan, all alkyds produced by the Liquid Resins and Additives (LRA) business line at its European plants in the second quarter of this year will be Partially mass-balanced bio-based pentaerythritol was used instead

    This deliberate decision will increase the bio-content of industry-leading water- and solvent-based alkyd resins sold under the allnex RESYDROL, SETAL, SETAQUA brands by 25%, reflecting allnex's clear commitment to sustainability

    Through this shift, allnex customers will automatically shift their resin products in a more sustainable direction, allowing them to offer eco-friendly coatings

    These bio-enhanced alkyd resins represent the industry's first transition to voluntary offerings from resin manufacturers at the same price point without the inconvenience of lab reformulation and testing or performance compromises

    As a result of this shift, the company expects to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than a thousand tons per year
