On July 25, Air Products announced a series of additional goals and commitments on sustainabilit.
According to reports, in order for the company to achieve net-zero emissions targets by 2050 and keep pace with the progress of society to achieve net-zero emissions, Air Products has identified a tangible transformation plan, that is, in the fields of low carbon and zero carbon hydroge.
At the same time, to achieve its net zero commitment, Air Products is promoting a partnership with the Science-Based Carbon Targets Initiative (SBTi.
At the same time, Air Products is also working to address the climate impact of its upstream and downstream industry chains, with an additional emission reduction target of "reduction by 1/3 by 2030.
"These commitments complement and strengthen the company's growth strategy to build our business on a positive climate impact and achieve sustainable growth with our customers," said Air Products Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Ge Simi.
Before the new commitment, Air Products had avoided 5 million tons of carbon emissions since 2015 by improving its facilities and purchased 27 percent of its electricity from renewable source.
