【Chemical machinery and equipment network Industry dynamics】Global warming is currently one of the major environmental problems we are facing, in order to solve this problem, people from all walks of life have been working hard for many years, but the environmental impact of global warming is still continuing, and these ensuing problems, perhaps before achieving the dual carbon goal, we need to try to mitigate, and even further seek ways to solve
    .

Among the many effects of global warming, melting glaciers are particularly pronounced
    .
It is no exaggeration to say that glacier melt in areas around the world, including the North and South Poles, where ice and snow cover is involved, to varying degrees, and this situation is generally serious
    .

In the case of our country, take the Dagu glacier as an example
    .
Dagu Glacier is the easternmost edge of China's Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and a modern mountain glacier at the end of the Quaternary glacial period, with 13 modern glaciers developing with a total area of 6.
    04 square kilometers
    .
But in the past 5 years, 4 Dagu glaciers have disappeared
    .
Not only that, according to relevant statistics, from 2012 to 2020, the total area of Dagu Glacier shrank from 1.
    46 square kilometers to 0.
8415 square kilometers, disappearing by 88%.

This is enough to see the seriousness of
    the greenhouse effect on glaciers.
Even to some extent, if we do not prevent this problem from worsening, perhaps before "dual carbon" is achieved, we will face a new dilemma
due to other problems, including sea level rise.

In fact, and because of this, countries are trying to intervene to change the rate of
    glacier melting.
In 2020, the research team of the cryosphere laboratory of China's Northwest Research Institute tried to cover the surface of the glacier with 5 to 8 mm of thermal insulation reflective material geoweaving to reduce the impact of solar radiation on the glacier and slow down the rate of glacier melting.

And similar initiatives did make a difference
    .
And as far as our country is concerned, this material used to shield radiation is constantly developing
    .

But just "covering the glacier" may not be enough to change the melting of the glacier, so just recently, China began to try to "repair" the melting glacier
    through modern technology.

Recently, the Weather Modification Center of the China Meteorological Administration conducted for the first time a large-scale drone snow and ice replenishment test
in the Animaqing glacier area of the Sanjiangyuan area of the "China Water Tower".
It is reported that the Wing Loong-2H large UAV used this time is equipped with cloud microphysical detection and weather modification catalytic equipment, the first operation time is as long as 4 hours and 57 minutes, and the preliminary estimate of the operation affects an area of 15,000 square kilometers
    .

It is worth mentioning that this test is part of the 2022 Qinghai-Tibet Plateau UAV artificial snow and ice replenishment test, and in the future, a number of snow enhancement and detection tests will be carried out in a timely manner around the three sources of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, one river and two rivers to meet the needs of ecological protection
    .
In addition, the test data also provides certain support
for the development of related tools and instruments for subsequent promotion.
