EDF has successfully entered China's offshore wind market
by acquiring stakes in two projects with a total capacity of 500 MW.
On March 26, 2019, EDF and Chinese energy investment company CEI first announced the partnership, which was updated when the transaction was completed
on June 2, 2020.
According to the announcement, the two parties jointly established the Dongtai Phase 4 and Phase 5 offshore wind farm projects
located off the coast of Jiangsu Province, China.
Among them, the 300MW Dongtai Phase IV project has been put into operation in December 2019, while the 200MW Dongtai Phase 5 project will come online
in 2021.
EDF subsidiaries EDF Renewables and EDF China together own 37.
5% of the two wind farms, while Shenhua New Energy and Shenhua Clean Energy of China Energy Investment Corporation own the remaining 62.
