ABB provided Ecuador's state-owned oil company, Petroamazonas EP, with an integrated power management solution to help it improve production efficiency
.
It is reported that Petroamazonas' four new plants in Ecuador are using ABB's Emax2 low-voltage circuit breakers for integrated power management, which mainly use diesel generator sets to power
its production equipment.
ABB low voltage circuit breakers
Ensuring a continuous energy supply and processing time is a key factor
in the smooth operation of oil and gas production.
ABB's Emax 2 circuit breaker achieves this
by maintaining a balance between power consumption and power supply.
As the only circuit breaker in the world with seven communication standards, it can be combined
with any automation or monitoring system.
Emax 2 protects the energy network and its integrated communication module can be combined with Petroamazonas EP's local control system to provide operators with real-time energy consumption data
.
With remote diagnostics, it connects to the plant's central intelligence system to keep the program running
smoothly through regular repairs.
"ABB developed the Emax 2, the world's only low-voltage circuit breaker that can automatically monitor and control energy networks, to make energy management easier
.
" Giampiero Frisio, Global Head of ABB's Circuit Breakers & Switches business unit, said
.
"Through sensing, communication and advanced protection capabilities, our solutions can significantly improve production and energy efficiency
.
Because of its communication capabilities, it is also a good example of
our next 'Internet of Things, Services and People' strategy.
" Giampiero Frisio said
.
Petroamazonas EP is using ABB's advanced technology and its global quality standards to optimize its oil production
in Ecuador.
ABB's engineers have worked closely with the customer to develop a tailor-made solution to meet Petroamazonas EP's challenging work environment needs and help reduce non-productive time
