On August 12, CATL officially announced the construction of a battery factory in Debrecen, the eastern city of Hungary, with a planned production capacity of 100GWh and an investment of EUR 34 billio.
Located in the southern industrial park of Debrecen, the project covers an area of 221 hectares and will produce battery cells and modules for European car manufacturer.
The city of Debrecen, Hungary is located in the heart of Europ.
CATL will fulfill its commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of battery manufacturing, use a large amount of renewable energy for power generation, and actively discuss joint development of solar energy projects with local partner.
In addition, CATL will also discuss with local partners the possibility of establishing a battery material factory to promote the recycling and sustainable development of the battery value chai.
