On March 22, China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation and Qatar Petroleum Corporation signed a long-term purchase and sale agreement of 2 million tons/year of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
On March 22, China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation and Qatar Petroleum Corporation signed a long-term purchase and sale agreement of 2 million tons/year of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
From 2022, Qatar Petroleum will supply 2 million tons of LNG to Sinopec every year for a period of 10 years.
Zhang Yuzhuo, Chairman of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, said that the signing of a long-term LNG agreement with Qatar Petroleum Corporation is the first in history and is of great significance.
The Minister of State for Energy Affairs of Qatar and the President and CEO of Qatar Petroleum Corporation Kaabi said that the signing of the first long-term LNG agreement with Sinopec further consolidated the good bilateral relations between the two countries and was also the establishment of a long-term relationship between Qatar Petroleum Corporation and Sinopec.
It is understood that China is an important strategic partner in the energy sector of Qatar.
Qatar Petroleum Company is the Qatar National Petroleum Company, established in November 1974, responsible for the operation of Qatar's oil and gas industry.
Its main business includes oil and gas exploration and development.
