17 high-energy-consuming industries energy-saving and carbon-reduction transformation and upgrading implementation guidelines announced

On February 11, the "Implementation Guidelines for Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction Transformation and Upgrading in Key Areas of High Energy-consuming Industries (2022 Edition)" jointly issued by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and the National Energy Administration was released to the public

The "Guide" proposes that for enterprises whose energy efficiency is at the benchmark level, especially below the benchmark level, actively promote the advanced technology and equipment proposed in this Implementation Guide, Green Technology Promotion Catalogue, Industrial Energy-saving Technology Recommended Catalogue, and "Energy Efficiency Star" Equipment Product Catalogue

The "Guide" also proposes to promote the backbone enterprises whose energy efficiency has reached or close to the benchmark level to use advanced and cutting-edge technology and equipment to plan and construct demonstration projects

At the same time, guide key enterprises to give full play to their advantages in capital, talents, technology, etc.

The "Guide" emphasizes that outdated process technologies and production equipment that do not meet the requirements of green and low-carbon transformation and development should be eliminated in accordance with laws and regulations

The "Guide" covers oil refining, ethylene, p-xylene, modern coal chemical industry, synthetic ammonia, calcium carbide, caustic soda, soda ash, ammonium phosphate, yellow phosphorus, coking, cement, flat glass, construction and sanitary ceramics, steel, ferroalloy, non-ferrous metal smelting, etc.
