Recently, the research group of Associate Professor Zhang Yuquan of the Sino-British International Low-Carbon School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University published a research paper entitled "Operating pesticide use reduction within the boundary of food security in peri-urban settings" in Fundamental Research, a high-level and high-level comprehensive journal
Under the current background of rapid industrialization and urbanization, suburban agriculture is under constant pressure in terms of land space, labor resources, and production costs, and is more dependent on material inputs
Taking Shanghai's 20% pesticide reduction target during the 13th Five-Year Plan as an example, this study independently developed and applied a partial equilibrium model to explore the multiple impacts of this policy on Shanghai's local food security and environment
The simulation results show that Chongming and Qingpu will be the areas most affected by the reduction policy.
The research was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Shanghai Pujiang Talent Project (Humanities and Social Sciences), and Shanghai Jiaotong University
