On February 8, 2022, Professor Yin Yuxin's team from Peking University School of Basic Medicine published a paper entitled " circPTEN1 , a circular RNA generated from PTEN, suppresses cancer progression through inhibition of TGF-β/Smad signaling" in Molecular Cancer .
The research paper identified a circular RNA encoded by the tumor suppressor gene PTEN , named circPTEN1 .
circ PTEN1 can interfere with the transcriptional activation of metastasis-critical genes mediated by the TGF-β /Smad pathway, thereby inhibiting the invasion and metastasis of colorectal cancer .
The discovery of circ PTEN1 provides new ideas and potential therapeutic targets for tumor metastasis research .
