In order to promote the development of emerging food business formats and reduce the "threshold" for enterprises to operate across regions, the Xiamen Municipal Market Supervision Bureau of Fujian Province recently issued the "Notice on Further Clarifying the Supervision of Food Business Licenses for Automatic Vending" (hereinafter referred to as the “Notice”).
The "Notice" includes the health food in special foods into the sales scope of vending machines, and the business item is approved as "health food sales"
In addition, considering the particularity of health food, the "Notice" clearly requires that when market regulators conduct supervision and inspection of automatic vending equipment that sells health food, they should check whether the licensed business item contains health food sales and whether it is sold in the automatic vending equipment.
The promulgation of the "Notice" broke the limitation of territorial regions and implemented the "one-license cross-regional quasi-camp" system
The "Notice" also clarifies that in the event of food safety problems, consumers can complain to the market supervision department where the vending machine is set up, or to the market supervision department where the vending machine is licensed.
