    90 participants received intensive, professionally supervised cardiac rehabilitation exercise training and diet counseling 3 times a week

    The other 50 participants received health education and written instructions on exercise, weight loss, and nutritional goals, and were asked to go home to self-supervise

    Four months later, the researchers found that compared with the self-supervised participants, the systolic blood pressure of the participants under professional supervision decreased by about 12mmHg on average

    The blood pressure measurement results obtained by 24-hour dynamic monitoring showed that in the group under professional supervision, the systolic blood pressure of the subjects was reduced by an average of 7mmHg, while in the self-supervised group, there was no significant change in blood pressure

    Participants supervised by professionals also had greater improvements in other key indicators of heart health, which indicates that these participants have a lower risk of future cardiovascular events
