100 sets of infrared cameras and 2 sets of black light smart dome automatic monitoring equipment are arranged in different regions and grids to implement all-weather monitoring of wild animals in the reserve

According to the Danxia Mountain Management Committee, in the three months since the project was launched, a large number of precious wildlife image materials, mainly beasts and birds, have been captured, further demonstrating the ecological value of Danxia Mountain

According to preliminary identification, as of August 10, 29 species of mammals and birds have been monitored, 691 valid photos have been obtained, and a variety of national and provincial protected animals have been monitored, including leopard cats, spotted wood raccoons, white pheasants, and brown winged cats.
National Class II protected animals such as cuckoo, immortal thrush, thrush, and red-billed lovebird, and provincial protected animals such as white-browed ground thrush, white-throated spotted chicken, night heron, pond heron, cattle egret, and red deer

At present, the project team is analyzing the data to better understand the population, distribution, living habits and activity rules of wild animals in the reserve, so as to more accurately do the work of wildlife conservation and biodiversity protection

According to the person in charge of the project, it was the first time to take pictures of red muntjac eating wild Ganoderma lucidum, which updated zoologists’ knowledge of red muntjac recipes and provided new information for wildlife conservation; it was the first time to be photographed in Danxia Mountain.
The silver star bamboo rat and the fairy thrush have added new records to the Danxia Mountain Wildlife List

At the same time, in view of the fact that the complex terrain of the core area of ​​the reserve is difficult to cover by the network signal, manual monitoring projects have been carried out to accurately find out the bird resources and migration rules, two climbing resources and distribution rules of Danxia Mountain

In the past year, not only the Chinese Merganser and Yellow-breasted Duck, the national first-level key protected animals, the Jinggang Mountain Ridge Snake, the celestial thrush, etc.

The reporter learned that during the three-month monitoring, more than 100 devices mainly deployed in the buffer zone and the core area have not yet recorded the phenomenon of human entry, and no poaching of wild animals has been found to steal wild plants
