"I didn't look forward to May Day, but a sandstorm came
According to the forecast of the Central Meteorological Observatory, currently there have been sand or floating dust weather in central and western Gansu and western Inner Mongolia.
Why this year's sand and dust weather has come round after round, what impact will this sand and dust weather have on our country, and how will it develop in the future? On the above issues of public concern, the reporter interviewed Gui Hailin, chief forecaster of the Central Meteorological Observatory
Strength and range are weaker than last time
"From the point of view of the dust intensity and the scope of influence, the dust weather this time is obviously weaker than the previous process (April 15)
The Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that from April 26 to 27, southeastern Xinjiang and the southern Xinjiang Basin, northwestern Qinghai, parts of central and western Gansu, central and western Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, northern Shaanxi, central and northern Shanxi, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei , Shandong, Henan, and parts of Northeast China will have sand or floating dust weather, and there will be sandstorms in parts of central Inner Mongolia
Talking about the reasons, Gui Hailin introduced that firstly, the Mongolian cyclone was located in the east, and the moving path did not pass through a large range of sand sources, and the material basis was not sufficient; secondly, the intensity of the cold air in the Mongolian cyclone and its rear was weak, Large-scale strong winds cannot smoothly blow sand and dust off the ground and transport it to higher altitudes, that is, the sand-dusting power conditions are insufficient
Why is it always the North that gets hurt?
Since the beginning of this year, North China has encountered 5 large-scale sand and dust weather processes.
Gui Hailin explained that there are a large number of arid and semi-arid surfaces such as deserts and Gobi in Central Asia
Seeing that summer is coming, can the dusty weather be over? Gui Hailin said that from the statistical data, spring is the season with the most frequent occurrence of sand and dust (March to May), accounting for almost 60% to 70% of the whole year
"However, sand and dust is not just a special product in spring, and there will still be sand and dust weather in summer, but the intensity is not large and the scope is not wide, so the attention is not high
Global warming is conducive to increased dust
This year seems to be particularly dusty and dusty
Gui Hailin said that in general, this spring in Mongolia and Inner Mongolia, the temperature has continued to be high and the precipitation has been low since mid-to-late February.
However, Gui Hailin believes that the dust weather is actually a normal weather phenomenon in spring, and its amount is related to the specific weather system and the underlying surface
