Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) has been shown to reduce the risk of SLE (lupus) episodes, lupus nephritis (LN), kidney damage and death from L.

It was hypothesized that previous studies were insufficient to determine the improvement in pregnancy outcomes associated with HC.

Methods: Eligible studies included prospectively collected pregnancies in women with lupu.

In conclusion, this large study of prospectively collected lupus pregnancies showed that women who continued to use HCQ throughout pregnancy had reduced lupus activity with no impairment of pregnancy outcome.
