Pro: What are the most effective NAD+ supplements? Top academic journal studies have come to a conclusion
There are many ways to supplement NAD+ which is the most effective? Presumably, many small partners have expressed curiosity, and a study published in a top international journal has answered the question!
American researchers selected three substances that are generally believed to be effective in increasing nad+ levels: NADH, NRH (NRH has been shown to be more efficient than NR to increase NAD+[1]), NMN, and published research results
This blockbuster study shows that NADH or NRH can significantly increase NAD+ levels, and NADH can increase the concentration of NAD+ with more concentrations than NMN! More importantly, NADH significantly increases the hepatic NAD+/NADH ratio, but does not induce apoptosis and protects cells
NADH is the most potent NAD+ concentration enhancer
NADH is the most potent NAD+ concentration enhancerThe researchers treated mammalian cell lines with the same molar amount of NADH, NRH, or NMN and found that NADH had a much better effect on elevating NAD+ levels than NMN (Figure 1A
This suggests that NADH stimulates an increase in NAD+ more than NRH or NMN in mammalian cells cultured in vitro!
Figure 1
To evaluate the biological effects of NADH, the researchers injected NADH 1000 mg/kg intraperitoneally into mice and determined the content
To test whether NADH was more effective in humans than other precursors, the researchers injected 250 mg/kg of NADH, NRH, NMN, and vehicle intraperitoneally into mice, respectively, and assessed the amount of NAD+ in the kidneys and liver after 4 hours (Figure 2B
The results show that NADH and other precursors can significantly increase the content of NAD+ in the kidneys, of which NADH has the strongest effect, reaching 350%! In the liver, NADH increased the concentration of NAD+ by 680%, while NRH and NMN increased by 500% and 170%,
At the same dose compared with NRH and NMN, NADH increases the effect of NAD+ better
Figure 2
NADH raises NAD+ levels and protects cells in a genotoxic environment
NADH raises NAD+ levels and protects cells in a genotoxic environmentThe main cause of aging in the body is the decline in NAD+ levels in the body and the oxidation of cellular mitochondria, which can lead to DNA damage and trigger cell death
The researchers treated the cells with hydrogen peroxide (HP), an oxidative stress inducer, for 6 h, then counted the number of cells and measured NAD+ levels
The results showed that the cell viability of the NADH+HP treatment group increased from 12% to nearly 72% compared with the HP treatment group (Figure 3D
It is worth noting that in the environment of oxidative stress, NADH not only has a protective effect on NAD+ levels, but also on cell survival
Figure 3
The above in vivo and in vitro experimental data show that NADH is more effective than NRH or NMN to increase the level of NAD+ and has a better protective effect on cells in an environment of oxidative stress
Lihuoyuan has multi-country quality and safety certifications: including the US FDA filing, Swiss SGS quality certification, etc
NPN is the top of the nutrition and health product certification pyramid, it is more stringent than the US FDA filing, the FDA for the management of dietary supplements to adopt a "filing system", listing does not require FDA approval, the supervision is relatively weak
